Evolution of Wild Rock
When the Wilderness Territory decided to develop the Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness in October of 2005, no one could foresee the change that the golfing world was about to experience in the Midwest.
With the purchase of 200 acres to the east of the current property, Wild Rock Golf Club started to evolve. Encompassing a scenic and diverse piece of topography, World renowned golf course architects, Hurdzan & Fry, relished the opportunity to build a world class golf course in Wisconsin Dells. Starting with several site visits, Hurdzan & Fry developed several great routing choices for the course, but not until a particular site visit took place late in November was the routing finalized after discovering an amazing sandstone ridge. With views reaching 30 miles, on a clear day, Hurdzan & Fry changed the course layout to maximize those views within the golfer’s trek of these brand new 18 holes of championship caliber golf.
Opening May 1, 2008 , golfers everywhere will be able to experience a creation of 18 wonderful holes, filled with dramatic elevation changes, ravines, woods, streams and an old stone quarry. Be one of the first to experience the Midwest’s newest and finest test of golf.
